Newly Diagnosed Programs

People with MS have needs that stretch beyond medicine. They have many questions about the disease, what the future holds and how their families and employment will be affected. The Chapter is pleased to offer programs that target the needs of people newly diagnosed with MS.

After You've Been Told is a program held via teleconference for callers statewide. The program will cover the medical aspects and emotional coping information provided in the Moving Forward program. This shorter version of Moving Forward is provided by phone for those who find it difficult to travel to a Moving Forward program due to distance or other reason. The two conference call sessions feature MS professionals followed by a question and answer segment. Please call 1-800-344-4867, option 1 for more information.

Knowledge is Power is a unique educational program conducted through the mail or via email. Each week for up to eight weeks, participants receive articles and supplemental materials relating to a variety of topics. Although this program was developed for people newly diagnosed with MS, it is open to everyone. Call 800-344-4867, option 1 to sign up for this program.
