Each year hundreds of people come together to move closer to a world free of multiple sclerosis by participating in Challenge Walk MS: Twin Cities.
What: A two-day, 30-mile or three-day, 50-mile walk in and around the Twin Cities to raise funds to help create a world free of multiple sclerosis and support programs and services for the nearly 10,000 people living with the disease in Minnesota and western Wisconsin. When: New this year the National MS Society, Minnesota Chapter offers both a three-day, 50-mile route option Sept. 11 to 13, and two-day, 30-mile option Sept. 12 and 13.

Cost to participate: Also new in 2009 is a lower pledge minimum of $900, plus registration fee.
Route: Challenge Walk MS features the very best the Twin Cities, including the Minneapolis chain of lakes and historic neighborhoods of St. Paul.
Expected revenue: The Minnesota Chapter anticipates the Challenge Walk MS will raise more than $450,000 in 2009.
