National MS Society President and CEO visits Minnesota Chapter’s MS Youth Camp
| Joyce Nelson on a visit to MS Youth Camp Tuesday. |
Joyce Nelson, president and CEO of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, visited the Minnesota Chapter’s MS Youth Camp, being held this week June 15 to 20, at the Wolf Ridge Environmental Learning Center in Finland, Minn.
Youth Camp, a weeklong camp for youth who have a parent or close relative with multiple sclerosis, offers campers an opportunity to connect with other kids affected by MS and participate in adventurous activities, including a high-ropes course, canoeing and more.
During her visit, Nelson shared stories from her 18 years at summer camp. “Not much has changed since I was in camp," she said. "I think the best thing about camp is the people and friends you meet."
Nelson also led the group in camp songs and games and shared ways young people can get involved in the movement to end MS.
