Four local volunteers earn national recognition
Each year the National Multiple Sclerosis Society inducts a select group of dedicated volunteers into the Volunteer Hall of Fame. Volunteers are recognized for going above and beyond in the areas advocacy, fundraising, programs and services, health care and research. The society also recognizes volunteers who have dedicated 35 years or more to the MS movement with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
The Minnesota Chapter is proud to announce three local volunteers have been inducted into the 2009 Volunteer Hall of Fame and another was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award. Meet these outstanding volunteers below.

| Marianne Green |
Marianne Green, 2009 Lifetime Achievement Award
For 35 years, Marianne Green has dedicated each and every Monday to helping out at the Minnesota Chapter office. Marianne answers phones to ensure people affected by MS get the information and help they need. She also makes thank-you calls to people who have made memorial gifts to the society.

Bill Gillispie |
Bill Gillispie is a highly dedicated and motivated leader for the MS movement. As a high level executive with the third largest retail grocery operation in the U.S., Bill frequently relocates. But his commitment to the society follows him wherever he goes. Bill has expanded his Walk MS team to six different states — raising hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Judy Soderberg, 2009 Volunteer Hall of Fame — Health Professional
For nearly three decades, Judy Soderberg has worked passionately to improve quality of life for people with MS In 1985, she helped launch a first-of-its-kind, comprehensive MS center. As a leading advocate for the MS community, Judy empowers people touched by the disease to be their own advocates, and her passion for the MS movement is contagious.

| Dave Anderson |
Dave Anderson, 2009 Volunteer Hall of Fame — Programs and Services
Dave Anderson has helped shape programming for people with MS by working with program committees on both a national and chapter level. For more than 10 years, Dave has been a key member of MSWorld — a global, online support network for people with MS. In addition to serving as vice president of MSWorld since 2006, he’s also been their Webmaster, chat host, technical support specialist and more. Dave also founded the Brainerd Lakes Chapter of Fishing Has No Boundaries, which provides anglers with disabilities a weekend of fishing and socialization.
