Challenge Walk MS kicks off tomorrow at Minnehaha Park

Challenge Walk MS: Twin Cities 2009 — a three-day, 50-mile walk to help end multiple sclerosis — kicks off tomorrow, Sept. 11, at Minnehaha Park in Minneapolis. The National Multiple Sclerosis Society anticipates walkers in the eighth annual event will raise more than $300,000 to help create a world free of MS.

Challenge Walk MS features the very best of the Twin Cities, including the Minneapolis chain of lakes and historic neighborhoods of St. Paul. New this year, the Minnesota Chapter offers a two-day, 30-mile route, which begins Saturday, Sept. 12.

Funds raised through the event help fund vital MS research projects all around the world and support programs and services for the nearly 10,000 people living with the disease in Minnesota and western Wisconsin.

Challenge Walk MS comes to a close Sunday, Sept. 13, with a group victory march to the state Capitol in St. Paul.
