We would like to invite everyone and/or your families and caregivers to a Public Forum on Wednesday, Aug. 8 in the Osakis Room at Arrowwood in Alexandria, Minn. (2100 Arrowwood Lane NW). It will start at 2 pm and go until 6 pm to accommodate people who work. You can come when you want and stay as long as you want.
We will discuss what services are available to disabled folks in our area. It is sponsored by the MN Statewide Independent Living Council. Information will be shared by a panel of people who work with agencies, as well as consumers of services for people with disabilities.
One of the goals of the Public Forum is to ascertain how money should spent in this area on independent living services. We'd like to encourage you to attend if posssible.
They will welcome questions and comments about how easy it is--or is not--to access things that are important to disabled people. This may include medical attention, housing, jobs, education, transportation, etc.
It will be in the Osakis Room of Arrowwood, so it might be easiest to use the south parking lot (closest to Co Rd 22) and enter by the tennis courts.
We hope to see you there!
