Roseville book club readings

Below is a list of books and suggested readings that have been read by the Roseville book club. Opinions of these books were provided by MS Society book club members in the Roseville area.

A Three Dog Life,” Abigail Thomas
This was an easy book to put down and pick up. It helped the reader see that there is a silver lining to every difficult situation.

"A Thousand Splendid Suns," Khaled Hosseini
This book was very good and presented a lot of different issues. It led to an excellent discussion and was an easy read.

“The Spiral Staircase: My Climb Out of Darkness,” Karen Armstrong
Four stars! Parts of the book speak to those of us with changes and loss of control in our lives. The beginning and end of the book were especially good for discussion. Although we didn’t enjoy the entire book, it was fodder for a good two-hour discussion.

“The Namesake,” Jhumpa Lahiri
Would recommend the book, three stars. It didn’t create a great discussion. We want to try to find the movie. We had a tough time with the multiple significant relationships that the protagonist had.
