Simple ways to join the movement
There are countless ways to engage other people in the movement to end MS. Use ideas from the list below or come up with your own. Add to the list by submitting your ideas to jenna.washnieski@nmss.org.
- Share what MS equals to you.
- Give a window cling to a friend.
- Learn about a new research update and tell someone about it.
- Watch and pass along an episode of "Research Break."
- Blog about MS or your involvement with the Chapter.
- Add an HTML button to your MySpace or Facebook page.
- Attend or view an ambassador training.
- E-mail five people about easy ways they can join the movement.
- Attend a chapter program and learn something new about MS.
- Speak to a group in your community.
- Host an informational table at your workplace.
- Form a team for a Walk MS or Bike MS event.
- Write a “Why I’m a Movement Ambassador” speech or letter and submit it to be included in the monthly Movement Ambassador e-mail.
- Wear the MS Movement Clip or MS Movement Bracelet and talk about it to others.
- Share your Movement Ambassador ideas by e-mailing them to Jenna and having them included in the next monthly e-mail.
- Make an orange treat for your workplace, family, classmates or friends. Use it as an opportunity to talk about MS.
- Wear an event or volunteer T-shirt and use it as a conversation starter.
- Tattoo yourself. Be bold and wear an MS Society temporary tattoo where everyone can see!
- Change your MySpace or Facebook status to “I’m joining the MS movement!”
- Invite a friend to join you at the MS Annual Convention or another MS Society program.
- Invite a friend to volunteer with you at a Walk MS or Bike MS event.
- Encourage a friend to become a Movement Ambassador and raise awareness of MS and the MS Society.
- Ask local businesses to hang an MS Society poster during MS Awareness Week.
- Wear your Walk MS or Bike MS shirt to the gym while you work out. You might entice other gym members to register!
