Move forward through exercise and find an exercise program in your community or become an expert in using a healthy lifestyle to help manage MS. Aquatics is one form of therapeutic exercise available to people with MS.

MS Aquatics Student Feature

Dorothy B.
Dorothy has been taking aquatics at the South City Family YMCA for over two months now. "Because of the aquatics class my balance is improving, my endurance is increasing and my confidence is booming!" Dorothy says. She also attributes her improved strength and muscle tone to the gentle water class in which she is involved. She states, "I have even stopped tripping and stumbling like I used to." Dorothy admits to being afraid of the water and her classes have helped her overcome this fear. She says, "I still don't know how to swim but I'm getting the exercise I need and the class has taken my fear of the water away".

Keep up the great work, Dorothy!
