The therapeutic exercises available in the community like Tai Chi, Yoga, Aquatics, and Pilates can improve balance, reduce stress and calm the mind while improving muscle tone and range of motion. Among the array of benefits are increased self-confidence, improved physical health, opportunity to make new friends, and a better all-around outlook on life!
Art therapy and horticulture therapy activities are additional programs available in the community providing therapeutic benefits. Creating art can be a non-threatening way to connect with one’s inner self, relieve tension and be a powerful aid in managing the challenges of MS. Participants need no previous art experience or artistic talent. Horticulture therapy offers relief from physical and cognitive limitations, reduces stress, gently exercises aging or arthritic joints, and stimulates memory. Caring for plants inspires hope.

Monthly Creative Writing Group
The Saint Louis University's MS Center invites you to join their monthly creative writing group. Creative writing is a method to discover and replenish a sense of well-being. We propose to begin a rich tradition of sharing stories through your perspective. Our hope is to reach far and wide by benefitting lives on the individual and community levels.
Abby Lockett, writing instructor, will lead this twelve-month series. No experience is necessary - we offer a low-key environment where you can socialize, take part in fun creative-writing activities, and share writing with others.
You will have the opportunity to share and get feedback on your writing from the instructor and other members of the group. You can experiment with different writing techniques and explore the world of writing at your own pace.
