Volunteer

The National MS society depends on the work of its faithful volunteers. Over 1,200 volunteers have committed countless service hours with the National MS Society. Our volunteers come from every walk of life, and have very different skills - but one common goal: to move towards a world free of MS. Join the movement. Volunteer today.

Please visit the links on the left to hear volunteer stories and to find more ways to get involved. There’s an opportunity for everybody, from fundraising events to assisting at our chapter office, to special interest groups, and even internships.

There's a reason to volunteer, no matter what stage in your life you are in!

If you are:
Employed: Volunteering gives you a chance to learn new skills, gain experience in a new field, and meet new people. We have positions that only require a couple of hours per week and can be done from home.

Retired: Volunteering is a great way to stay active, stay connected and to share your experience, and talents. We have a large group of retired individuals currently volunteering with us, come in a make a new friend!

Recent College Graduate or Current Student: Internships are a great way to connect your interests and what you are studying or have studied with the “real world”. Our Chapter has many short term and long term Internship projects that will give you a chance to gain experience in working for a nonprofit and of course build your resume and networks.

Job Seeker: Volunteering while you are also actively job hunting is a great way to continue to keep you active in a workplace setting. It gives you a chance to learn new skills, refresh old skills, meet new people, and build your resume and networks. Volunteering is also a great way to reduce stress and increase a positive sense of self. Times are tough, and we know that. Do something good for the world while you are searching for jobs!
