Local Chapter announces winner of the Norman Cohn Hope Award
High Point, NC- The Central NC Chapter of the National MS Society held its ninth annual High Point MS Luncheon on March 11, 2009 at the High Point Country Club. The luncheon featured Wendy Booker, a motivational speaker and mountain climber who was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1998.
Despite her MS, Wendy Booker has successfully reached the top of six of the Seven Summits. Her sights are set on Mount Everest as her next challenge.
The event raised a record breaking $146,000 thanks to Mark & Rena Norcross and others in the community who sold tickets and acquired sponsorships.“We are so fortunate to have people like Mark & Rena Norcross, along with the sponsors, table hosts and patrons, who give so much and work so hard to raise valuable dollars for our chapter in efforts to create a world free of MS”, says Elizabeth Green, Chapter President of the Central NC Chapter.
