Specialized National MS Society license plates have been on cars and available for more than six months. The North Carolina Chapters of the National MS Society have received the first installment of funds from the North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles (NC DMV) for the more than 350 specialized license plates now on the MOVE. The plates are creating awareness and per the authorizing legislation the funding is also to being used to create “public awareness programs” about multiple sclerosis.
Obtaining a specialized MS license plate is easy.
1. You can apply online with at DMV website. Look for the National MS Society plate under the letter “N”.
2. You can complete the application and bring it to your local NC Vehicle & License Plate Office or mail the application and fee to: NC Division of Motor Vehicles, Special License Plate Unit, 3148 Mail Service Center, Raleigh, NC 27699.
Remember when you apply, the specialized fee is in addition to your vehicle registration fee. $15 of the specialized fee will be returned to the National MS Society, North Carolina Chapters. If you have any further questions, please contact the Society at 1-800 FIGHT MS.
