Meet this year’s National MS Society Hall of Fame volunteers!

Each year, Society chapter’s nominate local volunteers to receive national recognition for their outstanding service to the National MS Society. Detailed nomination forms are submitted for each candidate and volunteer review panels from around the country have the challenging job of selecting the final honorees.
Meet this year’s National MS Society Hall of Fame volunteers in the categories of advocacy, fundraising, health professionals, programs and services, and research. Celebrate the 2009 Lifetime Achievement honorees— volunteers with 35 or more years of service. And get to know the 2009 Volunteer of the Year!
Bob Hunter - Mid Atlantic Chapter
Bob Hunter has been an MS Activist for the Mid-Atlantic Chapter since 2006. He is a member of the South Carolina Government Relations Committee and the chair of the Long Term Care Subcommittee. He spearheaded efforts to create additional accessibility in his community and enthusiastically contacts legislators about federal, state, and local issues.
Becky and Lester Ranson – Mid Atlantic
Becky and Lester have been leading a highly successful Self-help group for newly diagnosed for over nine years. They have also volunteered as camp counselors, led teams of volunteers during MS Service Day and participate in the local community walk each year. Lester has participated in the 50 mile Challenge Walk and both he and Becky have volunteered. Lester and Becky give generously of themselves and their time to serve people living with MS.
