Take an extra step and join the Walk Planning Committee! Volunteering with the Walk and the National MS Society can include more than just a one day commitment. If you are passionate about a cure for MS and willing to learn and work with others, the Mid-Atlantic Chapter can use your ideas, commitment, organization and creativity on a planning committee. Help is needed in the following areas for each area:
- Route and Logistics - Help ensure the route is safe and approved by the city! This job also includes confirming rest stops along the route.
- Teams - Are you a successful team captain? Connect with local Walk teams to help with fundraising and recruitment.
- Sponsorship - If you are comfortable asking for donations, this is the place for you! Help the Chapter secure food and cash donations in each area.
- Marketing - Help get the word out about Walk MS! This job includes brochure distribution and contacting local media outlets to promote the Walk.
- Fun! - Help make the Walk even better by organizing entertainment! The specifics are up to you, but they often include DJ's, karaoke, Kid Zones, bands, magicians or clowns!
- Volunteers - Help connect volunteers to the Walk by organizing groups, assigning jobs and acting as a resource before and during the event.
