Eastern NC Chapter Wins Excellence in Programs Awards
The Eastern North Carolina Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society is honored for three distinct awards in the 2008 Excellence in Programs Awards. Awards received include: Health Promotion and Disease Prevention, Continuing (Long-term or Social) Care, and overall winner in the Excellence in Quality of Life Principles category.
In fiscal year 2008, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society Chapters delivered great programs and services to those not only living with MS but also to those in the health care field treating people living with MS. The Excellence in Programs Awards recognizes chapters in three categories: Quality of Life Principles, Long-term Care and Professional Education and Outreach. Chapters who achieved excellence offered creativity, innovation, good marketing strategies and concrete designs in their programs and services.
“Our chapter saw many great advances in programs and services this year and we are grateful for the recognition the awards offer,” says Jeff Furst, president of the Eastern North Carolina Chapter. “In the coming year, we hope to drive the multiple sclerosis movement forward with our continued commitment to outstanding work."
