Local Company Continues to Give Despite Economy

BRADCO Supply Leading the Way to a World Free of MS

Avenel - Amongst the corporate bailouts happening across the nation one local New Jersey based company has continued to not only give back to those living locally but be the driving force behind many of the programs and services offered to those affected by multiple sclerosis. BRADCO Supply, a major national distributor of building materials, is leading a corporate movement to help create a world free of multiple sclerosis.

BRADCO, whose corporate headquarters are in Avenel, NJ, was named the chapter’s Corporation of the Year in 2006 and has continued to expand its support since then.
Currently BRADCO sponsors four of the New Jersey Metro Chapter’s fundraising events - Walk MS, Women On The Move, MS Golf Classic and Musical Moments. In addition to that they have recently funded several of the Chapter’s programs and services for those living with MS including the Day Out Program; providing a member with MS who is homebound an outing with family and friends, the MS Scholarship Program and the Holiday Gift Giving Program.

BRADCO became involved with the chapter in 2005 when they decided to form a team for Walk MS. Team BRADCO is led by captain and employee Kim Rios. The very first year they participated in Walk MS BRADCO raised $14,000. This year they raised an astounding $108,000 with sponsorship making them the top grossing Walk MS team in the Garden State. In addition to her full time job with BRADCO, Kim works year round on fundraising, recruiting and organizing BRADCO ’s support of all chapter involvement.

Every hour someone is diagnosed with MS, a chronic disease of the central nervous system for which there is no cure. Multiple sclerosis interrupts the flow of information between the brain and the body and stops people from moving. For some, this means living with unpredictable symptoms that can come and go, like numbness and blurred vision. For others, there is more permanent damage, like paralysis. For everyone impacted by MS, it means not knowing what the day will bring and always being prepared for the unexpected, making it difficult to move forward in life.
