Host your own event to raise funds to help create a world free of MS
Are you interested in planning your own fundraiser to benefit the New Jersey Metro Chapter of the National MS Society? The New Jersey Metro Chapter receives numerous inquires each year from individuals and organizations that want to stage their own fund-raising events in support of our Mission. These Community Events are run independently from the chapter by interested volunteers.
Here are just a few ideas to get you started…
- Guest bartend at your local bar and collect tips for MS
- Have your band perform and charge a cover
- Host your very own karaoke night and charge per song
- Plan a garage or apartment sale
- Turn your hobby into profit - sell your wares and donate a portion to MS
- Plan a poker tournament with the proceeds going to our chapter
- Host a wine-tasting event
- Plan a “Dress-4-MS” day at your office or school
- Throw a “sales” party at your home. Sell products such as make-up, cooking supplies, etc., with the profits going to MS
- Have a bake sale
- Organize a car wash for MS
- Plan a Dance-a-thon
- Organize an outdoor event: Hike, Ski, Kayak for MS
These are just a few ideas to help get you started. Perhaps you have a creative idea that could raise some money for MS? We would welcome the opportunity to speak with you about the possibility of hosting your own third party event benefiting the New Jersey Metro Chapter of the MS Society.

We are always looking to hear about what our amazing participants do as we move forward toward a world free of MS! >Laura Chowansky and Shore Rehab Walk MS team will be having a Dine-In event at the delicious Surf Taco restaurant. Bring the certified flyer with you to ANY Surf Taco location on Thursday, February 9th, between 11am and 9pmand 20% of your check will benefit Walk MS! Surf Taco has 10 locations in the Monmouth and Ocean County area including Point Pleasant, Manasquan, Belmar, Jackson, Silverton, Lacey, Long Branch, and Red Bank. >Come out for a great night on Sunday, February 19thfrom 3pm-8pmbenefiting Bike MS with Jeff Olsen, Team Captain of Team LOVE: Scotty Love for a Benefit Concert at the Milltown American Legion, located at 4 JF Kennedy Ave, Milltown, NJ! The VooDudes will be performing, and there will be a gift auction, food, wine, beer, soda, and FUN! $15 will be donated to the team for each person that buys a ticket, and the proceeds of the gift auction will also benefit Team LOVE: Scotty Love. > Erik and Morgan Van den Berg and the 10 Hours at Campgaw Walk MS Team will be hosting their first annual Ski-a-Thon to benefit the National MS Society! 10 Hours at Campgaw will take place on Saturday, March 3rd, at Campgaw Ski Area, located at 200 Campgaw Road in Mahwah, NJ, in conjunction with the Ski Area's annual Pig Roast. Teams and Individuals will be competing to complete the most runs in 10 hours (between 9am and 7pm). The entry fee is $36, and 50% of the entry fee will be donated to the NJ Metro Chapter! >Join Kevin Kilroy and his Walk MS Team, FIREFIGHTERS 4 MS / PATIENTS LIKE ME on Tuesday, March 13th, from 4pm-11pm for a Dine-In Fundraiser at Cheeseburger in Paradise! Located at 700 Plaza Dr. in Secaucus, NJ, each diner who arrives with the certified flyer will have a portion of their total dine-in bill donated back to support Kevin’s fundraising efforts for Walk MS! >Lisa Calitri will be hosting her annual Spin-a-Thon event to support her Bike MS team, Team Lisa. Lisa's gym, Vision Sports Club, located at 37 West Jefferson Ave in Pearl River, NY, will be hosting the event on March 18th from 8am to 1pm. Teams of anywhere from 2 to 5 people can be created, and the cost is $10 per bike per hour for up to 5 hours. ALL proceeds raised at the Spin-a-Thon will go to Team Lisa. > Laura Rizza is hosting an exciting Food and Wine Tasting event to benefit her Walk MS team, Team Rizza, that is sure to get your mouth watering! Join her on Sunday, March 25th from 1pm to 4pm at Old York Cellars for an afternoon of great wine, food, and music courtesy of Acoustic Road. Old York Cellars, located at 80 Old York Rd, Ringoes, NJ is proud to host the event where a $75 donation per person includes food prepared by Award-winning local chefs, wine tasting, and souvenir glass. >Join Andrea Brooks and Walk MS team Attitude is Everything at the Mother's Day Shop and Dine Event on Saturday, March 31st from 12pm to 4 pm. The event will take place at FISH Urban Dining in Asbury Park, located at 601 Mattison Ave. Vendors include: Stella and Dot, Pampered Chef, Arbonne, Tastefully Simple, Partylite, as well as other local vendors. Each individual vendor has agreed to donate 20 - 30% of the day's sale to Attitude is Everything to support the National MS Society and Walk MS! More specials to be announced as the date approaches. The auction will take place on Sunday, April 22ndat the Ocean Township VFW, located at 212 Norwood Ave in Oakhurst, New Jersey.
