Chore Services Program

The Chore Services Program is a service that is offered to individuals who have been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and who are having difficulty in keeping up with daily chores and maintenance of their home and property and to assist them to remain independent in their homes as long as possible. Any individual who has been diagnosed with MS and is a member of the North Central States Chapter is eligible for the Chore Services Program.

If you would like assistance with your chores, please contact us at 1-800-344-4867.

The person with MS must complete and sign the Chore Services Plan and the Waiver and Release Form and receive approval from the chapter before any chores or maintenance may begin. Every time a new provider/volunteer is selected, a new Waiver must be completed. In addition to the completed forms, the person with MS must attach a copy of a prescription from their treating doctor or neurologist stating they have MS and they would benefit from this service. The prescription needs to be filed only one time.

The types of chores and maintenance tasks that are provided in this program include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Small household chores (does not include home repairs or painting)
  • Light meal preparation
  • Laundry assistance
  • Routine yard maintenance (does not include tree trimming and removal)
  • Snow removal
  • Light housekeeping
  • Errands (such as grocery shopping, dropping off dry-cleaning, etc…)

Read the full policy for more details about this program.

If you are interested in volunteering to provide these types of services to assist people living with MS in your area, please fill out this volunteer application form and send to you local office or contact us at 1-800-344-4867.
