The North Central States Chapter is pleased to announce one of its newest initiatives: the Ask a Nurse Program. As a part of this program, the chapter will be able to provide individuals who have been diagnosed with MS, a referral to nurses who specialize in MS. These nurses can answer questions on a variety of topics including: general facts about MS, medical advice, symptom management, pharmaceutical consultation, treatment options, and disease progression. This is a free service provided by the chapter but it does not replace the need to see the primary care physician or neurologist on a regular basis. The nurses in this program are Registered Nurses and are working or have worked in a clinic setting that specializes in multiple sclerosis.
Currently, the chapter is working with the following nurses:
Peggy Mondry, RN, Fargo, North Dakota
Diana Kirby, RN, Omaha, Nebraska
Jo Landis, RN, Sioux Falls, South Dakota
Janet Limoges, RN, North Sioux City, South Dakota
Valerie Stickel-Diehl, RN, Des Moines, Iowa
If you are an individual with MS and would like more information about this program, please email nth@nmss.org or call 1-800-344-4867.
