Health and Wellness Programs

People with MS understand something about moving that few others do - that moving is not a guarantee. To keep healthy and independent, many doctors suggest that people with MS regularly exercise. Across the North Central States Chapter, many healthcare facilities are offering exercise and wellness programs for people with MS.

An aquatics class for people with MS and their care partners is held twice a week at Dow Rummell Village in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

In Des Moines, Iowa, people with MS can now participate in Intro to H2O, a water wellness program at Mercy Medical Center.

At MeritCare Health System in Fargo, Sit-N-Fit and Splash Water Workout classes help keep people with MS healthy.

In the Dakota Dunes/Sioux City area, Janet Limoges leads exercise classes at CNOS each Monday and Wednesday. Each individual is assessed and given a unique program, tailored to their needs. For more information contact Janet Limoges at 605-217-2726.

Nutrition can also play a large role in wellness, read Cathy Breeden's thoughts on MS and food.
