What is Sit-N-Fit?
Held at MeritCare in Fargo, North Dakota, Sit-N-Fit is a 5-week (10 classes) group exercise program designed for individuals with orthopedic/neuromuscular concerns, mental, and physical limitations. Ideal for those with MS, arthritis, or anyone wanting a gentle group exercise program providing a professionally guided, safe total body workout. It is also appropriate for gait assisted and individuals using a wheelchair. Various levels of exercise are performed while seated, which help improve motor skills, balance, strength, flexibility, and posture. We will exercise to enjoyable music and perform a variety of movements to help build strength and develop muscle tone. Regular physical exercise helps to reduce fatigue manage pain and improve/maintain physical function for improving daily living challenges and a better quality of life. Caregivers are also welcome at no additional fee. Classes held at MeritCare Sports Medicine Southpointe.
- The program fee is $40.00 for this 5-week session (10 classes)

- Join the class at any time and be fee will be pro-rated accordingly
- A physician’s release is required
What is the National MS Society's scholarship program?
The National MS Society- North Central States Chapter will offer scholarships to individuals with MS who are members of the chapter. The scholarship is equal to one half of the total cost of the program.
- Participants must complete any paperwork required by MeritCare’s Sit-N-Fit program.
- Participants must complete a reimbursement form and return it to the chapter.
- Participants must pay the full amount of the program prior to starting their 5-week session.
- Participants will only receive the scholarship after successful completion of the Sit-N-Fit program (successful completion is determined by regular attendance and participation in the program).
- The trainer assigned to the group will contact the North Central States Chapter to request the appropriate scholarships.
