GENERATION MS VOLUNTEERS - This visitation program helps those living in a long term care facility or living at home with out at care partner feel connected through regular social visits. Learn more.

CHORE SERVICES VOLUNTEERS - Help those who are having difficulty keeping up with daily chores or home maintenance to remain living independent in their homes as long as possible. Learn more.

GOVERNMENT RELATIONS COMMITTEEThis committee gathers information from the Chapter Programs Committee and the Clinical Advisory Committee about the unmet needs of people with MS and relates this to pending policy issues. Members prioritize issues and develop an advocacy plan for each issue. The committee helps establish and develop key legislative and administrative contacts at the federal, state and local levels.

 

WEBSITE REVIEW VOLUNTEERS - This project takes little time and can be done right from home. We need volunteers to regularly check our website and provide feedback. Help us keep our website up-to-date and user-friendly. This can be an ongoing or short-term project. Please email kelly.boeddeker@nmss.org

ASK-A-PROFESSIONAL VOLUNTEERS - People with MS face many challenges when it comes to daily life. We are looking for an excellent network of professionals that are willing to share their expertise with people with MS that are looking for advice. This would include lawyers, doctors, nurses, nutritionists, therapists, and many other professionals that can help with questions that our clients may have. For example, if a client calls with a question about Social Security or Disability eligibility, we can refer them to a lawyer that specializes in SS/DI cases, and can offer the help and expertise that they need.

CLINICAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE VOLUNTEERS - This volunteer committee will provide advice, guidance, and oversight to the Chapter regarding general areas of medical/long-term care management of MS. The group will also advise the Board of Trustees on medical and scientific questions, as well as affiliations with medical facilities. For a complete job description, click here.

Qualified CAC members include the following: Members of the medical community. Neurologists, other physicians treating patients with MS, professionals from allied health fields, other professionals related to the medical field.
