Workplace Giving

A Great way to join the movement toward a world free of multiple sclerosis

Employer-based fund-raising campaigns offer an excellent and additional way to support the National MS Society!

United Way: The New York City - Southern New York Chapter is not a United Way-funded agency, but through a special program called United Way Donor Choice, you can designate your payroll deduction to benefit the NMSS-New York City Chapter. Simply name the New York City - Southern New York Chapter on the United Way contributor's designation card. If your employer is part of the United Way of New York City or the United Way of Tri-State, you can use our agency identification number: 004103. If you live or work outside of New York City, just write in "National Multiple Sclerosis Society, NYC - Southern NY Chapter" on the form where it asks for the name of the agency you wish to support.

If you are a state, city or federal employee, you may make payroll contributions to the Chapter through other charitable campaigns, such as: the State Employees Federated Appeal (SEFA), the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) - our CFC identification number is 9023, the Combined Municipal Campaign (CMC), the City University of New York (CUNY) or the New York City Transit Authority. At the start of such campaigns, your employer should provide a list of codes for the National MS Society and other non-profit agencies for your designations.

Workplace giving  is a simple and easy way to make an enormous difference in the lives of people and their families facing the challenges of living with MS. If you have any questions, please call the chapter at 212-463-7787.

Workplace Giving Programs provide an easy way for you to make your contributions to help support the movement toward a world free of multiple sclerosis. The National Multiple Sclerosis Society partners with Community Health Charities in both the public and private sector. You will find our listing under the Community Health Charities Federation. If you don’t find us, ask your employer to add our name. If you have any additional questions about your contribution, please call the chapter office at 212-463-7787.

Public Sector
Federal employees can support the National Multiple Sclerosis Society through the Combined Federal Campaign by selecting the designated code number, #11409, under the Community Health Charities Federation.

Other Public Sector employees, such as state, county, school, etc., will also find our local listing numbers under Community Health Charities.

Private Sector
Your company may have an individual corporate gift program or participate through the Community Health Charities Federation or United Way. In most areas we do not participate in the United Way, but you may ask if you can designate your gift to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society through the Donor Designation Program.

Matching Gift Fund
Does your employer have a matching gift fund? If so, be sure to speak with them about matching your gift to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

If your employer has established an Employee Contributions Club that funds local grants, let us know. We will be happy to submit a grant request that will help support the local MS clients.

All gifts made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society through Workplace Giving are tax deductible.

For additional information, please call the chapter office.
