When someone you love and care for is living with MS, finding time to take care of yourself can be difficult. The New York City Chapter invites you to join us for a day to slow down, relax, learn and enjoy a few hours meeting and networking with your peers.

The day will begin with a light breakfast, followed by an exciting presentation by Sheila Warnock, co-author of “Share The Care, How to Organize a Group to Care for Someone Who Is Seriously Ill,” and founder and president of ShareTheCaregiving, Inc. The Share The Care TM  model was developed in NYC when a group of 12 women (mostly strangers to each other) came together and stayed together for three and a half years to care for a mutual friend with cancer. Over time they developed ways of working and rotating responsibilities so that no one was overwhelmed. Their system has served as a grassroots blueprint for groups  across the United States and Canada, helping them cope with a variety of illnesses and conditions. Come and learn about the evolution of this caregiving model and how it benefits every community.

In the afternoon, you’ll have the opportunity to eat lunch talk with others, and spend the afternoon participating in activities designed to focus on relaxation for you!   Massages, reiki, and yoga are some of available activities.

Respite support available upon request.
