THE NMSS RE-LAUNCHES THE MS LICENSE PLATE FALL 2011!
In 2004, New York State legislation passed that granted the National MS Society to join forces with the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), creating a License plate, displaying the MS Logo in order to create awareness and raise money to support pediatric MS research across the state of New York. This was all made possible through the advocacy efforts of the MS Coalition Action Network (MS CAN), which includes the National MS Society Upstate NY Chapter, NYC/Southern NY and Long Island Chapters with special thanks to the efforts of the Government Relation Committees (GRC’s), who volunteered their time towards this effort. Across the state we are re-launching the License plate to raise money for pediatric research programs in Buffalo and Stonybrook, NY. To Date, the license plates have raised over $26,000! A large portion of this money is planned to be released to Jacobs Neurological Institute in Buffalo, NY, in fall 2011 to support their current pediatric research programs. We wish to continue the fundraising efforts in order to FIGHT MS and raise awareness! Please support the National MS Society and pediatric research by purchasing your MS License plate today!
