Chapter Programs Committee (CPC) 

Are you creative? Are you innovative? Are you motivated?
Chapter Programs Committee members advise, recommend and help to plan and coordinate client programs and activities, including educational seminars/talks, support groups, advocacy initiatives and therapeutic recreation opportunities that meet the social, emotional, and physical health needs of individuals and families living with multiple sclerosis. Chapter Programs Committees are multi-disciplinary and may include health-care professionals, people with MS, friends and family members of people with MS, and interested community members.

Duties:

1. Serves as a resource to the chapter staff and the committee in area of expertise.

2. Represents the National Multiple Sclerosis Society to the public.

3. Participates in the development and review of policies, guidelines, and position related to programs and quality-of-life issues.

4. Accepts specific tasks as designated by the CPC chair, e.g., reviewing program materials, writing/editing an article for the chapter newsletter, presenting at a chapter-sponsored educational program.

5. Participates in the development of the annual plan of action and budget for programs.

6. Serves in a leadership capacity in the development, implementation, and evaluation of specific programs at the request of chapter staff and committee chair.

7. Assists in the recruitment, orientation, and training of members of the CPC and its subcommittees from throughout the chapter area.

8. Attends scheduled meetings of the CPC.

9. Serves on subcommittees of the CPC as designated by the CPC chair.
