Funds raised at these and other events allow the National MS Society to provide a programs and services to the nearly        11,000 Ohioans who live each day with MS. Funds raised also support the largest investement in MS research in the world (second only to the National Institutes of Health). Here are     some examples of what your dollars provide to your friends       and neighbors:

   $300  

Books/videos for the Society’s lending library that help inspire and educate people with MS, their families, healthcare professionals and the public.

 $500

Financial assistance to two self-help groups that provide emotional and psychosocial support from peers, trained MS counselors, and educational opportunities for people with MS and their families.

 $750

Educational resource material  for 50 families who are living with the devastating effects of MS.

 $1,000

Support for “Moving Forward,” an educational program for those newly diagnosed with MS—providing the tools to understand and live with MS.

 $2,000

Assistance for eight people in obtaining prescribed medical equipment (wheelchairs, Hoyer lifts, and many other home health aids).

 $4,000

Respite care services for ten families—temporary relief for people with MS and their caregivers.

 $5,000

Social opportunities for 2,000 people impacted by MS, including families and caregivers.

 $7,500

Provides the most current information about MS including books, pamphlets, videos about living with MS to more than 18,000 Ohioans.
