Events are truly a great way to get quickly introduced to the Society and help out with a short assignment that fits your personal needs and preferences. Best of all, they are great for individuals, families, and corporate groups.
Volunteers are always needed at the 12 Walk MS sites all over Ohio. More than 500 volunteers assist each year with the Bike MS Pedal to the Point Bike Ride. Want to do your volunteer work indoors? Leadership events like the Dinner of Champions and MS Luncheons need volunteers, too.
- Bike MS: Two days. One destination. A world free of MS. Bike MS is the largest and most successful fundraising event for the Ohio Buckeye Chapter and requires hundreds of volunteers to make the event a success. Volunteer opportunities include - providing important pre-event office support, help at event check in, assist with day-of activities including registration, lunch, rest stop support, photography, start and/or finish line festivities, route marking or assist with post-event activities. - Walk MS: The Walk MS is the signature event of the National MS Society. The Ohio Buckeye Chapter hosts 12 walk events in the spring in communities throughout Central and Northeast Ohio. Each walk requires volunteers in order to have a safe, fun, and successful experience. We have volunteer opportunities for all ages and all size groups. Help with registration, parking, safety, communications, medical, cheering, set up, clean up, rest stops and much more.
- Dinner of Champions:
- Walleye Fishing Tournament: What could be better than spending the day at the lake? Spending the day at the lake while helping the National MS Society. Volunteers are needed to help with getting captains and participants checked in and setting up dinner. There are some messy jobs needed as well like fish cleaning and helping get the fish out of the boats and weighed.
- Educational Programs: Educational programs are offered throughout the year by the Ohio Buckeye Chapter. The goal of our programs is to offer educational opportunities and provide outlets for fun and growth for people living with MS, their family and friends. Volunteers are usually needed for greeting, registration, information, and set-up.
