Ohio MS License Plate Now Available!

 Ohio License Plate

In 2007, Ohio MS Activists set to work to establish a MS Awareness license plate in Ohio and their efforts found victory January 6, 2009 when Governor Ted Strickland signed Senate Bill 243 making the creation of the MS Awareness license plate law.

The new plate is now available for purchase from the Bureau of Motor Vehicles.

A special thank you goes out to Representatives Jay Goyal and Clifford Hite, who sponsored the legislation and saw it through to passage.

To keep the license plates available, we need to sell or renew 500 each year. Not only will the purchase of these specialty license plates raise awareness of MS, proceeds will return to the Ohio Chapters to assist with services and programs. Watch for updates on this website regarding the availability of the plates.

“MS is a serious concern for Ohio, and with this legislation we will be able to raise awareness as well as increase funding to combat this disease.” Quote from Representative Jay Goyal

Cost will be an additional $25 for the plate with $15 to the Ohio Chapters and $10 to the state which is to compensate the bureau of motor vehicles for the additional services required in the issuing of "multiple sclerosis awareness" license plates.
