When a person with MS needs a home modification, eligibility for assistance must be determined. The individual must be registered with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Ohio Valley Chapter. A financial application form must be filled out, and include a confirmation of their diagnosis. The individual also must have a doctor’s prescription, and a financial assistance form updated at least 2 years.
Types of home modifications:
• Grab bars
• Widening doors
• Lowering or raising a sink, vanity or counter top
• Modifying a bathroom or shower
• Ramps and lifts
• Repair of installation of railings
