Couseling

Sometimes a person with multiple sclerosis may face difficult situations involving the course and effects of the disease on themselves, their family and caregivers. Licensed social workers are trained to assist the person with multiple sclerosis in choosing a counseling option to assist them in coping with the disease. The counseling program can provide:

• Confidential, short-term, individual and/or family counseling with a licensed mental health professional
• Counseling will take place in your home or at a counselor’s office, depending on your need and counselor availability
• Cost coverage should your insurance be inadequate or non-existent for a predetermined amount of time or session.

The counseling program provides access to individual, marital or family counseling to members who do not have coverage for mental health services. Potential clients are asked to check first with their insurance provider prior to requesting assistance from the chapter.
