The Oklahoma Chapter offers various educational programs, throughout the year:
Annual Meeting & Volunteer Recognition: General membership meeting of the organization at which board is elected; volunteers are honored and general MS information is delivered through a keynote speaker; rotates between Tulsa and OKC area.
Knowledge Is Power: Individuals newly diagnosed with MS may sign-up and receive a series of informative brochures on subjects geared to individuals with a recent diagnosis.
MS Connection Newsletter: Chapter newsletter that is mailed on a quarterly basis; includes current research, treatment information and chapter activities.
Moving Forward: A Program for the Newly Diagnosed: Annual program aimed at offering the person recently diagnosed with basic MS information in several core areas; rotates between Tulsa and OKC.
Information & Referral: The Chapter contracts with the Information & Referral Center (IRC) located in Denver, Colorado. The IRC is an extension of the NMSS Training & Resource Center. More than 21 trained I&R Specialists provide immediate professional assistance for information and referral calls.
