About MS:
> About MS - Learn the facts about MS: what it is; who gets it and why; what symptoms MS can cause; and how it's diagnosed and treated.
> Newly Diagnosed with MS - The National MS Society has developed programs to give you the information and support you need to live comfortably and confidently with this change in your life.
> Living with Advanced MS - Although we have treatments to manage the disease course, they are only partially effective; people whose MS has become more disabling need information about how to manage the challenges they face.
> Pediatric MS - Although MS occurs most commonly in adults, it is also diagnosed in children and adolescents.
Studies and Research:
> Local Studies and Trials - Clinical trials help to determine if a drug is safe and effective for people with MS. People with MS who are willing to volunteer in these studies make it possible for all of us to look forward to new and better therapies.
> Local MS Research - The National MS Society funds research around the world, including projects being conducted right here in the Pacific Northwest.
> National MS Research - The National MS Society is a driving force of MS research, supporting and stimulating world-class research into ways to prevent, better treat and cure this unpredictable disease.
Communities and Support:
> Self-Help Groups - Small groups of people living with or affected by MS who get together to share experiences and support one another.
> MS World - MSWorld®, Inc. provides a global virtual community of support to people living with multiple sclerosis. The site’s sole mission is to create a safe, informative, useful, and fun place for people to meet, share ideas and gain useful resources to help manage and cope.
