The Americans with Disabilities Act
The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is a law that provides civil rights protection to individuals with disabilities. It guarantees equal opportunities for individuals with disabilities regarding:
- Public accommodations
- Employment
- Transportation
- State and local government services
- Telecommunications
The law alone, however, does not ensure perfect situations or circumstances. The ADA is a complaint driven law; if you believe that you have been discriminated - treated unfairly because of your disability - you need to report it.
For more information about, or questions regarding the ADA, please call the Oregon Chapter at 800.344.4867 or 503.223.9511, or send an email to info@defeatms.com.
Or, call the Northwest ADA Center at 800.949.4232.
