Children's Resources

Kids are affected when MS strikes within the family circle. Fortunately, they're young and resilient, but often need help to understand MS and what's happening to a parent, relative or friend. Here are some resources for children having a family member affected by multiple sclerosis:

Keep S'myelin - a colorful kid's newsletter filled with stories, interviews, games, and activities that highlight a variety of topics about multiple sclerosis.

The Oregon Chapter has helpful literature including a coloring book, video tape and board game, available through our lending library.


More and more children and young adults are being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Here are some resources for families of children with multiple sclerosis:

Pediatric MS Support Group - The National Multiple Sclerosis Society, along with the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, operates a support network and referral service for families with a child or teen diagnosed with MS. Call 1-866-KIDS-W-MS or email childhoodms@nmss.org.

National MS Society Scholarship Program - For people and families living with MS who need financial assistance for higher education.
