The National Multiple Sclerosis Society is committed to addressing the challenges of each person whose life is affected by MS. Managing life with MS begins with information about the disease, treatment and symptom management. The National MS Society provides up-to-date information and comprehensive educational programs and services for people affected by MS.
But living successfully with MS requires more than just information. It can be hard to find answers to complex questions, hard to know where to turn for help, and hard to know what to do. The Society has created the MS Navigator™ program to offer a partner to every person who lives with the challenges of MS. Whether you are a person with MS, a family member, or are concerned about someone you know who has MS, the National MS Society is here to assist.
When you contact the National Multiple Sclerosis Society with a question about living with MS, you will be connected with a highly skilled professional whose job it is to help you navigate the challenges of multiple sclerosis. Whatever your concern, your Service Coordination Specialist (your MS Navigator™) will listen and then help you find the best information or connect you to the most useful programs and resources.
He or she will
- direct you to the resources and services needed.
- provide supportive, solution-oriented consultation.
- assist you in weighing and analyzing your options.
- provide information complementary to your need.
Complex issues may take additional research, assistance and follow up. You might talk with one person, or several different experts, depending on the nature of your concern. Occasionally a face-to-face meeting may be offered. Regardless of the path traveled, Service Coordinator Specialist (your MS Navigator™) is there with you throughout the journey, because no one should have to face MS alone.
