Philadelphia women to swim English Channel
Three Philadelphia women are preparing for the swim of their lives to help a friend who’s living with multiple sclerosis.
Tori DeLollo, Trista Felty and Kiersten Rosenberg will swim the English Channel on June 29 in honor of Lauren Schulman, a Villanova University swimming teammate who was diagnosed with the disease in 2007.
“Swimming the channel and raising money for research, is for now, our way of helping Lauren with this disease,” Rosenberg said. “Our hopes are high, and with Lauren as our motivation we believe that we can get back into swimming shape and cross the 21 miles from England to France, raising money and awareness for this disease along the way.”
DeLollo, Felty and Rosenberg have raised $4,000 to cover the cost of swimming the channel (most going to charter a boat), and now hope to raise an additional $10,000 to support research by the National MS Society. Supporters can learn more and donate here.
