For 19 years, the folks at Bertie’s Inn in Exeter Township have made their marks against MS through the Bertie’s Belt Sander Race.
The spirited event, co-sponsored by Leinbach Hardware, attracts 400 to 500 racers and spectators each year and raises $8,000 to $10,000 for local people living with MS through sponsorships and ticket sales. Team members take part in a tournament-style competition by sitting on belt sanders and racing the length of a 50-foot track.
