We're privileged to have Patricia O'Looney, the National MS Society's vice president of biomedical research, presenting the update. Since joining the Society in 1988, she has directed and expanded its research initiatives and encouraged collaborations across scientific disciplines in MS research.
 
Plus, join us for dinner and the annual business meeting of the chapter, where you can meet new president Tami Caesar and hear about the year's successes and challenges.

November 7: Care Giving Stress
Maintaining an identity apart from being a caregiver is an important part of caring for yourself as well as your loved one. Dr. Barry Jacobs, author of “The Emotional Survival Guide for Caregivers,” will facilitate discussion about the stresses and emotions involved with care giving and help you refocus energy on yourself. November 7: Changes & Choices for People with MS
One of the hardest parts of having MS is learning to deal with the ever-present uncertainty. Dr. J. Lamar Freed, a psychologist specializing in chronic illness, will facilitate a discussion about emotional responses to the changes brought by MS. November 12: Annual Meeting & Research Update
The chapter's annual meeting will be an opportunity for members to meet trustees and staff, including our new chapter president, Tami Caesar; hear about the successes and challenges of the past year; and be part of the required annual business meeting of the chapter. November 16: Clinical Trials: Solving One Piece of the MS Puzzle - Reading
Join the Reading self-help group to view the National MS Society's video, Clinical Trials: Solving One Piece of the MS Puzzle, followed by a presentation and question and answer session by Sona Byregowda, clinical study coordinator from Thomas Jefferson University Neurology Associates. Join us for a video presentation that will explain what clinical trials are, how they are managed, benefits and risks of participating and ways in which clinical trials provide hope for future MS treatments.
