User Options:

Staying active physically, socially and mentally is an important part of overcoming the challenges of living with MS.

The Greater Delaware Valley Chapter and its community partners sponsor a number of adaptive wellness programs all year round, including:

  • MS Wellness Program at Good Shepherd Rehab Hospital (Allentown, Pa.)
  • Strength & Flexibility (West Chester, Pa.)
  • Tennis, fitness, dance, martial arts, swimming and more at West Chester Area YMCA (West Chester, Pa.)

Get moving at these wellness classes:

Now through September 30, 2012: Feelin' Fit
Join us for aquatics, strength conditioning and/or yoga at ACAC Fitness Center in West Chester, Pa. These classes are free, but pre-registration is required. Once you have registered, you will be eligible to take as many classes as you'd like. Take one or take them all. Your registration is valid through September 30, 2012. Class Schedule:
>Mondays - Aquatics (12 noon - 12:45 p.m.)
>Wednesdays - Strength Conditioning (12 noon - 12:45 p.m.)
>Thursdays - Aquatics (12 noon - 12:45 p.m.)
>Fridays - Yoga (12 noon - 12:45 p.m.)
 

Winter wellness series

The following classes run from January through March and cost $30 each to sign up (fee covers all 10 classes).

Gentle Yoga classes:
Yoga classes are designed to effectively improve muscle tone and circulation. Gentle Yoga helps strengthen, stretch and relax muscle groups and build concentration. (LEVELS I, II & III)

Strong at Your Core Pilates classes:
Pilates mat exercises focus on strengthening the core muscles from your shoulders to your hips. You will sit and lie on your side and back to do the stretches and exercises, and all can be modified to fit your personal needs. (LEVELS I & II)

Dance/Movement Therapy:
This program can help alleviate fatigue and pain through relaxation exercises and can increase your awareness of your body as a whole. (LEVELS I & II)
