For Caregivers

Caregiver services are designed to provide a break or an extra set of hands for those who provide care for a loved one with multiple sclerosis. In addition to services, we also provide occasional programs targeted at caregivers' needs.

Caregiver Respite

Care partners occasionally feel stress from the complex needs of the person with multiple sclerosis. As a result, they often forego taking care of themselves. To help ease the stress, the chapter provides financial assistance for respite care services. The chapter can provide financial assistance up to, but not to exceed, $1,000 for a facility stay or in-home service, once a year.

November 7: Care Giving Stress
Maintaining an identity apart from being a caregiver is an important part of caring for yourself as well as your loved one. Dr. Barry Jacobs, author of “The Emotional Survival Guide for Caregivers,” will facilitate discussion about the stresses and emotions involved with care giving and help you refocus energy on yourself. Family Programs
The Greater Delaware Valley Chapter offers social and educational opportunities for families, from the popular annual outing at Dorney Park to workshops that teach kids about MS.

A Consent to Services form must be completed and submitted to the chapter before any assistance can be provided.
