Position Overview
The grants volunteers will identify and write grants for existing services provided by the chapter, as well as grants for new services and public policy efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify key foundations
- Write grants
- Identify relationships between foundation staff and MS community
- Track all foundations in chapter’s computer database system
Initial Impact:
The impact will be continued funding of crucial services as well as expansion of services where there are gaps in community resources.
Sustained Outcome:
Grants for public policy will allow chapter to expand its effort to develop a grassroots movement to affect change.
Training:
Training will be provided by chapter.
Support:
The volunteer will be supported by the chapter staff in the services department. Supervisory check-in meetings will take place twice a month at the least.
Commitment:
Those interested may apply to write one grant or several. This position can be done from home, but requires a computer and internet connection. Regular calls are required for volunteer with chapter staff.
Qualifications:
- Previous grant writing experience a plus
- Enthusiastic
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Computer skills
- Dependable
