Adaptive Chair Yoga Series - September 21 to October 26, 2011
Experience yoga as the art and science of well-being, all done from a chair! Within each person’s scope of mobility, you will learn breathing techniques to energize the body and elevate the mood. Yoga postures will be offered with modifications for each student’s level of ability. Emphasis will be on maintaining range of movement, balance, and strength, while creating comfort in an atmosphere of safety.
About our instructor:
Joy Bennett, IYT-500 is certified in teaching yoga therapy for a wide variety of conditions, including significant training and experience in adaptive yoga for multiple sclerosis. She owns Joyful Breath Yoga Therapy in Providence, where she specializes in customized private yoga sessions. Having taught yoga for MS in a variety of settings, Joy is a dynamic, enthusiastic instructor. You will be amazed at how much yoga you can do from a chair!

The MS Society 2nd Annual Holiday Bazaar - November 12, 2011

Get a jump on your holiday shopping at the National MS Society’s 2nd Annual Holiday Bazaar. Vendors will be selling holiday gifts, hand-crafted jewelry, blankets, baby clothes, greeting cards, gourmet foods, artwork and more. Also, take a chance buying a ticket for the prize table.
Last year’s event was very successful and we expect that this year will be even more so. All proceeds go directly to the crafters, many with MS, as well as to our financial assistance program.
In addition to the homemade items, we have a super delicious bake sale. Many items made by people with MS and their families.
