Helping Hands and Compassionate Voices
Programs and services volunteers are our helping hands and compassionate voices for people with MS in the Mid South Chapter. Check out ways you can get involved as a programs volunteer:
Self-Help Group Leader
Lead a self-help group of people who are affected by MS in your community. For more information, please contact Meredith Perdue at meredith.perdue@msmidsouth.org or 615.269.9055.
Advocacy Volunteer
Progress in public policy is made when citizens and legislators work together to identify needs in their communities and to address them in a positive way – it’s the power of people working together for a common cause. Join the MS Action Network, the center for advocacy at the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. You can be part of representing the interests of people with MS as important policy decisions are made in both the public and private sectors. The MS Action Network works on the important issues at federal, state and local levels. Advocacy covers critical topics such as:
- Federal funding for MS research
- Quality health care
- Long-term care
- Disability rights
- Health insurance
- Prescription drug coverage
- Transportation
Our Advocacy Programs brings people together to help improve the quality of life for people impacted by MS.
