Activists Lead the Way
With the help and dedication of MS activists throughout the chapter and the United States, last week the U.S. House of Representatives Appropriations Committee provided $6 million to MS research in the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP) in the FY2010 Defense Appropriations Bill. This is an increase of $1 million -- 20% -- over last year's appropriations. The Senate will next complete their version of the appropriations bill, which will then go to conference with the House before becoming finalized. This is an opportunity for all MS activists to contact their senators and urge support of these appropriations.
