On the Move, formerly known as Women Against MS, is a nationwide education and fundraising program founded in 1999. Each year more than 20 chapters host Women on the Move (WOM) Luncheons to educate communities about MS and give from the heart to help friends, family members and colleagues. The Lone Star Chapter hosts events in Houston and North Texas, featuring guest speakers such as actress and comedian Teri Garr, author and motivational speaker Zoe Koplowitz, MS ambassador and former FBI agent Sue Thomas, Basketball Hall of Famer and Olympian Nancy Lieberman, and Austin Carty from the hit CBS TV show "Survivor: Panama - Exile Island."
In just four years, this incredible program has touched the lives of 1,500 women across Texas and raised almost $250,000 for the Lone Star Chapter. Nationally, WOM has raised more than $2.7 million to support the work of the Society.
Our next On the Move Luncheon will take place in North Texas in November. If you are interested in learning more, please contact Jenny Heidrick at 1-800-344-4867 (press 2).
