The National MS Society, Lone Star offers year-round educational programs.

The goals of our programs are to offer educational opportunities and to provide outlets for growth to people living with MS, their friends and families.

Information and resources for those newly diagnosed, their friends and family.

Knowledge is Power
This resource -- for those newly diagnosed -- is an eight-week course by mail or e-mail. Start the course by contacting Darla Andrews at 214-373-1400 (press 2) or sign up online.

8 Hours to a Lifetime of Relationship Satisfaction Teleconference Series

This teleconference series began Oct. 13, 2009. All calls begin at 6 p.m. and end at 7:15 p.m. Upcoming calls will be held Nov. 3, Nov. 10 and Nov. 17.

This teleconference series began Oct. 15, 2009. All calls begin at 8 p.m. and end at 9:15 p.m. Upcoming calls will be held Nov. 5, Nov. 12 and Nov. 19.

You must register for either series by calling 1-800-344-4867 (press 1) or by e-mailing couplesprogram@nmss.org. You will receive course materials once you have completed all registration requirements (couple enrollment and individual assessments).

Relationship Matters Courses Available Online

Relationship Matters offers free courses on hot-button issues all couples face -- such as careers, money and intimacy -- but couples living with MS may find particularly challenging. The goals are to provide practical information and tools for couples to communicate on potentially difficult topics.

The three classes are Intimacy: Enriching Your Relationship, Career Decision: Relationship Matters and Adapting: Financial Planning for a life with MS ... Together.

Health Professionals
The National MS Society, Lone Star offers education for medical professionals who work with and treat persons living with MS.

Educational opportunities from outside sources

Educational programs are also offered by pharmaceutical companies and other entities. The National Multiple Sclerosis Society does not have input into the content of these programs.
