Lone Star's Financial Assistance Program provides services and goods to individuals living with MS who are in need of services that have not been provided by other community resources.
To qualify for assistance, a person living with multiple sclerosis must be a Lone Star member, reside in the Lone Star service area and be eligible for financial assistance under the Lone Star's Guidelines. Only those meeting criteria for financial assistance will receive services or goods from the chapter. Those applying for assistance should contact the chapter at least two weeks before the money is needed, except in emergency cases.
Assistance can and does come in many different forms and is dependent upon one’s individual needs.
Provision of services must either maintain or enhance:
- Dignity in managing the symptoms of MS
- Independence and safety in the performance of daily tasks
- Mobility within the community
If you are in need of assistance or would like more information on the services provided, please call 1-800-344-4867 (press 1).
