2009 Texas Public Policy Conference
February 22-24, 2009
Austin, Texas
The Texas Public Policy conference shapes the legislative agenda for 20,000 Texans living with MS. More than 120 MS activists from across the state journeyed to Austin Feb. 22-24 for the 2009 Texas Public Policy Conference. Attendees learned about key legislative issues that impact persons with MS, heard from dynamic speakers who provided insight on sharing personal MS experiences with lawmakers, built connections with other activists and received new resources to help tell their stories.
The empowering three-day conference concluded with MS Day at the Capitol, as MS activists went to the State Capitol to meet personally with Texas senators and representatives; the National MS Society was also recognized in the Texas Senate and House of Representatives.

Change Happens Through Activism!
The conference provided many exciting opportunities for leaders and activists to impact policy issues for people with MS. Attendees received advocacy trainings from legislative trainer Joe Gagen, lobbied at the State Capitol to make personal visits to Texas legislators, and attended an evening reception with State legislators as well as heard an inspiring message from Harvey Kronberg, editor of the Quorum Report. Attendees were motivated by inspiring personal stories of many who face the challenges of living with MS and how they are making an impact through activism.
We encourage you to continue to Join The Movement and Take Action on policies that impact people with MS and their families.
